Then the scape emerged as straight and as thick as a broom handle, replete with 7 lateral branches and a top cluster with a total of 45 buds. Then it rebloomed from the same fan, and the rebloom scape was one of the finest scapes in the garden. The bloom is 5.5 inches, and is a nice lavender with a big braided gold edge, but what sets this apart is its oversquare symmetrical form and substance like heavy plastic. Substance on BIONICLE goes beyond both parents and even the heaviest substanced edged varieties I grow, like the magnificent MOMENT IN THE SUN. And….it is an early morning opener, always perfectly flat by dawn. I let BIONICLE grow into a huge showstopping clump, and it always makes large well-branched plants with a bud-count in the thirties, and instantly re-blooms. Did I mention it is DORMANT? IMPORTANT for anyone seeking a magnificent DORMANT plant with petal width and heavy substance to cross with all the soft substanced tender greenhouse varieties.
