And of all the excellent yellows from RUFFLED PERFECTION, COOL SUMMER BREEZE combines the greatest number of superlatives in a single cultivar. This 5 1/2" soft lemon-yellow, is perfectly symmetrical, and the oversquare petals measure almost exactly the same diameter, only varying by 1/16" Beautiful piecrust ruffling is also even and precise and the heavy wax-like blooms are always perfect day-in and day-out. Foliage is evergreen, but large and arching and COOL SUMMER BREEZE thrives and performs in my zone 6 garden with no winter protection. Scapes are strong and erect and with 3-4 lateral branches and 28 buds, this boasts the finest branching and bud-count of any of my T. RUFFLED PERFECTION kids. Very fragrant and fertile both ways. COOL SUMMER BREEZE is proving a mighty and powerful parent and has surprised us with not only beautiful lemon-yellows, but some very near whites with form and ruffling I've never encountered in that color.
