tet 24" M. Dor. (Moonstone Gem X Tet Barbara Mitchell) This is the one! Every hybridizer to see this in the seedling bed uttered the same word-Awesome! And on viewing an even more impressive bloom on a sec- ond year plant, one well-known hybridizer yelled so loud that Janet ran out to see if someone got hit by a car! An understand- able response to a bright pink tetraploid, a full six inches in diameter, with all three petals just over FOUR inches across -and all laid out as flat as a board! I've actually measured 41/4" petals on blooms 61/2" in size. We had never before seen a pink diploid with these dimensions, much less a tet! This titan has proven peerless as a parent, vastly improving color, size, and width in my pinks. Pollen is the most potent we've encountered in any pink, and has been used more than any other! Very fragrant with 3-way branching and 22 buds. On seeing our first crop of kids from MIGHTY APHRODITE, we abandoned many of our induced pink parents like Tet. JEDI BRENDA SPANN, as MIGHTY APHRODITE gave seedlings as good or better, with superior scapes and dormant plants! Parent of our incredibly ruffled pink “OH!” Pod-fertile, but not easy- kids are worth the extra effort! Extremely limited. SOLD OUT (Benz 2001)
