UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHT

tet 36" M. Dor. (Red Grace X Tet W-29) This 6" crystal-clear lipstick-red is surely the single most beautiful red daylily we have yet introduced-unfortunately it has proven both pod and pollen sterile in this garden! Still, as a garden showpiece it has few peers, and we are introducing it with this in mind. The large blooms are beautifully ruffled and accented by a thin snow- white picotee, and a vivid lime-green throat. Reminds one of RED GRACE on steroids; larger, heavier blooms with more intense red and green color; larger, stronger scapes, and all this on even larger blue-green dormant plants. Would also make a great show flower as the well- branched scapes display over 35 of these sparkling red blooms to perfection, often 3 or 4 at a time. If UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHT were fertile, I would ask twice the price-if it were an easy parent, possibly even more! $100.00(Benz)
