(Startle X Angel's Smile) This very fancy 41/2" burgundy-red, with the glistening gold braided edge is a full sib to SHIRLEY FARMER, and like SHIRLEY, has proven a parent extraordinaire. Unusu- ally round and heavy substanced for a gold-edged variety, with especially wide sepals, and an intriguing banded throat pat- tern, surrounding a big lime-green throat Plants are much larger than its sib, and increase a lot faster-also far easier as a pod-parent, and thus, used much more heavily. An established clump will sport 3- 4 way wide-spaced branching and 30+ buds, and re-blooms dependably if well- grown. Extremely versatile as a par-ent, producing extravagantly ruffled rose- pinks, round and heavy reds, purples and banded patterns; all, of course dripping with big, gobby gold edges.
