PURPLE FANTASIA

(Benz) tet 36" M. Ev. (Double Agent X Tet. Brent Gabriel) This 6" unusual purple bi-tone was unexpected bonus from double breeding, and the only seedling out of 33 sibs that bloomed single. In fact…PURPLE FANTASIA has never thrown as much as one extra petaloid here. A beautiful and unique velvety deep purple with intricate scrolling ruffles and a black-purple eye. In cooler weather, petals and sepals are matching, but when the days grow warmer, this becomes a true-bi-tone, with paler lavender sepals. Fancy ruffles are edged in white, and petals are bisected by a white midrib. Throat is green, and fades to chartreuse in full sun. Remarkably heavy and sunfast, this exotic deep purple still looks fresh here after a day in hot sun. Strong scapes are usually top-branched with about 5 buds here, but I have seen 3 lateral branches and a bud-count as high as 25, indicating this one will certainly be happier in the South. Fertile both ways, but a rather difficult pod-parent. Fall Only $SOLD OUT
