CHRISTMAS CANDY (Benz) tet 36" M. Dor. (Ed Marshall X Tet. Christmas Is) CHRISTMAS CANDY is the culmination of a 20 year quest for a tetraploid version of CHRISTMAS IS on a strong robust plant. Of all the reds I grow, ED MARSHALL with its wonderful plant habit and branching and very large green throat of its own, was the single most suitable foil for Tet. CHRISTMAS IS. CHRISTMAS CANDY takes its beautiful plant from ED MARSHALL, and the round flower form as well. Tet. CHRISTMAS IS improved both the red color and size and intensity of the green throat. I have used Tet. CHRISTMAS IS extensively, and though nothing so far has surpassed it as to the proportionate size and intensity of its green throat, have several future intros from this classic beauty, but CHRISTMAS CANDY still comes closest to my original vision. This 5" ruby red with the huge green throat is very sunfast and at sunset, the green throat color is far more intense and deeper green in color than either of its parents. Plants are large and strong, with beautiful scapes and branching and about 28 buds and CHRISTMAS CANDY reblooms here. Fertile both ways, but pods are difficult in full sun. Proving a wonderful parent and I used this more last summer than ever before. $200.00
