ROMANTIC ENCOUNTER

(Benz) tet 35" ML. Dor. (Romancer X Angel's Smile) When we first acquired ANGEL'S SMILE we crossed it to just about every good red and purple in the garden. Initial results were disappointing, as very few had gold edges. Still, some very beautiful and unique seedlings were to emerge. ROMANTIC ENCOUNTER is a showpiece in clump form, a round 5" bright red bi-tone, with a softer rose watermark and a large brilliant green throat. The wire edge in gold grows wider and much more bold when established. (slide was taken on a newly set out plant) Blooms are very heavy substanced always perfect. Branching is superb with tall erect scapes displaying 35 blooms to perfection on 3-4 lateral branches and a terminal cluster. Plants are large and beautiful, with deep-green arching disease-free foliage. Fragrant and fertile both ways-also re-blooms. $100.00
