RED VELVET SUPREME

(Benz) tet 28" M. Dor. [Red Ransom X (Hiodoshi x Tet. W-29)] Most deep reds lack any real carrying power; that is, they fail to show off from a distance. This one is a rare exception. I expected beautiful blooms from this f-2 cross between 2 of my most voluptuous clear red seedlings from induced W-29. The resulting vigor that emerged in this cross of 2 tender evergreens was the surprise. And RED VELVET SUPREME, the best of the bunch proved to be a true dormant! This 5" saturated, crystal clear blood red is open perfectly flat every day, regardless of cool nights. Throat is vivid lime green and the velvety, sunfast blooms are bordered in snow-white. 35 or more of these gorgeous blooms are displayed on perfectly branched show scape with 3 laterals and a widespread terminal cluster. Plants are large and beautiful, with arching blue-green foliage, and rapid increase. Very fertile both ways, even in full sun, and is proving a wonderful parent.
