Wider than most in this class, but the single most notable characteristic of this flower is its extreme clarity of color. NEW AGE CRYSTAL has a white base, which clarifies everything from the lavender ground color and the darker purple eye to the clear green throat. Even the outer filigree border is a glittering diamond dusted silver, not gold. I chose MORT'S MASTERPIECE to cross into all the eyes and edges one year because it possessed this same clarity and also sported really nice sharks teeth on a magnificent big flower and plant. NEW AGE CRYSTAL makes a nice medium sized foliage plant, and scapes have nice but not superlative branching, with a budcount of about 20. Fragrant and an easy parent both ways. Kids are GORGEOUS.
