TOOTH AND NAIL (Benz) tet 48" M. Dor. (Forestlake Ragamuffin X Tet. Spindazzle) Seldom does a cross go exactly as planned and even less often does it exceed expectations on all levels. When the 80 odd sibs from the cross of (FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN X TETRA SPINDAZZLE) began to bloom, I found myself flagging every other plant. Overall quality was so high, I refused to move them for a second complete bloom season and planted the new seedlings around them. We finally selected 4 for future introduction, and in many ways TOOTH AND NAIL is the finest. This one has the most perfect show scape, with 4 evenly spaced lateral branches and a terminal cluster, and a bud count of 30 or more. This is also the largest at 8" and the most narrow in form and is a cascading UFO, often twisting and curling, giving this one the most spidery appearance of any of these. Also the most fertile, and this is an easy parent both ways and has already produced dramatic tentacles and fringes longer than anything we’ve seen before. The magnificent fringed edge is, of course the major feature of this bronze bitone is the dramatic fringed edge, and this daylily has twice as many teeth as anything else in commerce. Jamie Gossard exclaimed on viewing TOOTH AND NAIL in the first year seedling bed, "I didn't think you could get that many teeth on a daylily!" This has been a major player in our quest for fringed true spiders, and we've used it with everything from LIGHTNING STORM to BLACK TWISTER. I can't wait to see these bloom this coming summer. Come pay us a visit and see them first hand. Also TOOTH AND NAIL is a reliable re-bloomer. FALL ONLY $200.00
